"After graduating from St. John’s University with an MBA in 2023, I found myself uncertain about the direction I wanted to take in my professional career. That changed when an opportunity with McKee came along. I joined the company in July 2023 as an Underwriting Service Associate, and over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to grow both professionally and personally.
Working at a smaller organization has provided invaluable exposure to every facet of the business. In my role, I supported underwriters throughout the entire policy lifecycle—assisting with rating, quoting, binding, issuing, and managing day-to-day service needs. This hands-on experience allowed me to build a comprehensive understanding of underwriting operations while contributing meaningfully to our team’s success. Gaining insight into each stage of the policy lifecycle positioned me to seamlessly transition into my new role as a Production Underwriter.

The McKee Risk Management, Inc. Internship Program provides career-oriented students with an invaluable experience and exposure to the professional world prior to graduation. Students seeking an insurance internship in the Philadelphia area will have the unique opportunity to receive first-hand involvement in the underwriting process here at McKee.
Our intern duties stretch far beyond clerical tasks and include meaningful responsibilities that positively impact our successful business strategy. By interning with a Program Administrator like us, you’ll work with both agents and carriers, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how the insurance world operates. Many of our interns now work alongside of other young professionals and together learn and grow into successful professionals with long-term careers at McKee.
